People on low incomes are vulnerable - they cannot afford to have work done in their homes. DIY SCHOOL will deliver a series of workshops to teach basic knowledge of how to do things at home without paying extortionate call out fees for simple things such as changing a toilet flush, plastering a wall, plumbing in a washing machine or changing a light fitting. We will teach basic skills in plumbing, plastering, painting, decorating and basic electrics. The “I love Leith” FB site is full of people asking for someone to do these basic jobs – we wish to give people these skills to do it themselves.
